On December 7th Footprints USA was launched. Two programs were held, one in the morning at the PAL Center (Police Athletic League) in Auburn, Maine, and one in the afternoon at The Root Cellar, located in the poorest square mile in Lewiston, Maine. In these two programs 93 children and their parents were attended.
Puppets Victor Verde and his friend Stevie made their debut along with Audrey Bailey as the moderator, as they worked together to educate the children on the prevention of child abuse, bullying, etc. They were taught that they have rights such as the right to feel safe, the right to a family, the right to go to school and play, etc.
At the same time the children’s program was going on, there was a power point presentation for the adults on domestic violence and human trafficking. At the PAL Center there was one adult who came forward with a disclosure after attending the adult presentation.
Thanks to various donors we were able to collect the suficient funds to carry out of this program. We have now established a relationship with a reputable shoe company who sold us the boots at a discounted price, and with whom plan on continuing working with in the future.
